Berthoud Quest Academy of the Martial Arts
The Berthoud Quest Academy of the Martial Arts is a family oriented martial arts program with an emphasis on promoting self-defense, self-esteem and self-control.
Professor Martin Castro began training in the martial arts in the early 1970′s. He studied under Sonny Allen in American Kenpo, Kelly Luce Kenpo, Grand Master Rick Alemany in Shaolin Kenpo, Great Grand Master Ralph Castro the founder of Shaolin
Kenpo.
All through the 70′s, 80′s & 90,s Professor Castro traveled up and down the California coast as well as Nevada competing in martial arts tournaments, his favorite was the Long Beach International where you competed against the best of the best. When Professor Castro came to Colorado he continued his tournament competition in the Colorado Karate Associations tournaments, not only did he compete but also had numerous students competing as well, producing several Colorado state champions and many top 4 in their divisions. Professor Castro retired from competing in 2000 finishing in the top 3 in Forms, Fighting, & Grappling.
Professor Castro’s dedication to teaching and giving back to the community was recognized in 2002 when he received the Denver Area Youth for Christ Diamonds In The Rough Volunteer Of The Year Award for his work with the youth and family’s at the Denver Area Youth For Christ City Life Center in Aurora Colorado.
Professor Castro continues to train in the Shaolin Kenpo system under Great Grand Master Ralph Castro. And is the mid-west representative of the ISKA Grand Master Rick Alemany Shaolin Kenpo,Senior Master Rudy Tuiolosega Lima Lama, GM Don Philip Kamishin Jiu Jitsu and Professor Rick Hughes American Kenpo.
Karate Schedule
Youth – Mondays 4:00 to 5:00pm, Wednesdays 2:45 to 3:45pm
